PROOF OF CONCEPT
About
The Proof of Concept (PoC) project marked Farmties' first step towards demonstrating the potential of barren land development. Starting in 2018, 28 acres of ancestral land were selected for transformation. After researching various crops, the founders chose to plant yellow dates, with the first 5 acres developed within five months. By October 2018, the first phase had been completed, planting 76 date saplings per acre, accompanied by 120 varieties of fruit trees interspersed.
The project expanded as more investors were invited, and by 2021, the farm yielded its first commercial output. With an initial investment of ₹5 lakhs per acre, the farm produced ₹6.5 lakhs per acre, resulting in a 30% profit margin. This success validated Farmties’ approach to sustainable and profitable farming practices, setting the stage for future projects.
